I have a couple family members, who do not live close to the rest of the family. We all know that being away from home can be hard, so why not send them a little something to let them know you are thinking about them.
I like to send gifts through the mail as a surprise. Because, I also love getting surprises in the mail. How does that saying go, “Treat others the way you want to be treated”, right? A hand written letter or a small gift always seems more memorable than an email or an ecard. There’s just something extraordinary about going to the mailbox and finding a colored greeting card envelope or a package.
I usually just put the gift in a box and ship. But this time I wanted to do something a little special. I decided to decorate the inside of the box. The recipient is in for a great surprise when they open this box.
This is a simple DIY project. You only need a few supplies and take less than 5 minutes to make.
All of these supplies can be purchased at your local craft store.
Empty box or priority mail box
Glue Stick or Double Stick Tape
4 pieces of Tissue Paper
2 sheets of 12X12 Decorative Paper
Colored Easter grass
Sequins (bonus points for sequins)
Note card (optional)
Step No. 1: Measure the sides of the box flaps. // Step No. 2: Cute the decorative paper to the measurement of the box flaps. // Step No. 3: Use the glue stick or double stick tape to secure the decorative paper to the box flaps. Step No. 4: Place the tissue paper in the bottom of the box to cover the bottom and sides of the box. Step No. 5: Place colored Easter grass and sequins on top of the tissue paper.
And Voilà … you have a beautifully decorated shipping box.
